Este inicia con una mujer aparentemente desarreglada que al sonar la canción ‘Put Your Head On My Shoulder’ (1959), de Paul Anka, empieza a moverse a su ritmo. Cuando esto inicia, en el video se pone un filtro de luz roja, que en teoría ‘mantiene’ la privacidad, y así la chica que está haciendo el reto aparece bailando desnuda o semidesnuda. Según sus creadores, nace con el fin de que la mujer se sienta orgullosa de su cuerpo, muestre su figura e incremente su autoestima. ¡Por favor! ¿Es esto posible? Una y otra y otra vez, la sociedad mide nuestra estima y valor por la forma de nuestro cuerpo, lo sexy o no sexy que podamos llegar a ser y lo “provocativas” que seamos para los que nos observan. Nos toman como un objeto sexual, pues según ellos, somos valiosas por lo que podamos despertar sexualmente en un hombre. ¡Nada más errado que esa apreciación! Pero lastimosamente, muchas mujeres participan de ello.
Lo único que esta perspectiva ha conseguido por siglos es que la mujer centre su vida en hacer lo que sea por embellecer su cuerpo, lo que ha llevado a la muerte a muchas por cirugías estéticas o por la depresión que pueden desarrollar debido a que no consiguen verse como la sociedad dice que deben hacerlo.
Tal vez este Challenge no lleve a la muerte inmediata, como en otros casos, pero sí lleva a una muerte lenta, a un sufrimiento profundo, a un deseo incontrolable de aprobación, de sentirse deseada, admirada y amada por muchos. Además, este tipo de retos terminan en redes de pornografía, como ha sucedido en este caso, pues ya algunas personas han enseñado desde YouTube cómo quitar la luz roja que es usada en la grabación, para poder generar material pornográfico, al obtener el video de la chica sin el filtro que supuestamente la cubría.
Como mujeres no podemos seguir permitiendo que seamos medidas de acuerdo a nuestro aspecto físico, y no busco con esto hacer solo un llamado general, sino particular. Si cada mujer fuera consciente de que su valor no recae en su cuerpo, ni en lo que pueda despertar en los hombres, sino en Cristo, tendríamos grandes avances de libertad femenina . Esa libertad que cree que la verdadera belleza, aquella por la que una mujer debe ser admirada, es la interior, la que se viste de un espíritu tierno y apacible, la mujer que ama y es bondadosa, la que pone primero a Dios y sirve a los demás. Cuando una mujer tiene claro esto, no necesita seguir este tipo de retos, no necesita mostrar su cuerpo para ser admirada, ella ama mostrar su interior porque con ello honra a Dios y se siente satisfecha.
Para terminar, solo quisiera hacer un llamado a evaluar qué tanto edifica tu vida ese tipo de redes sociales, qué le suma, qué tanto nutre tu mente de la verdad.
