Pensamientos como “nací en el cuerpo equivocado” o “siento que viviría más plenamente si no fuese hombre/mujer” inundan hoy las mentes y corazones de la adolescencia y la juventud, distorsionando por completo que han sido creados en perfecto amor.
Sin embargo, “ser creados” implica que Alguien nos hizo y aquí es donde el poder de Dios se manifiesta y, con él, las verdades sobre las cuales deberíamos edificar los pensamientos acerca de nuestro cuerpo. Una de ellas es que Dios, al ver hecho al hombre, lo vio bueno en gran manera. Esto significa que quien nos concede valor es Dios, y no un “me gusta” ni un comentario en redes o la observación que otros hacen sobre nosotros con la intención de criticarnos.
Otra verdad, es que Dios estableció una diferencia de sexos, pero no porque uno fuese superior al otro, sino porque en esa diferencia se manifiesta Su gracia y gloria. Tanto hombres como mujeres compartimos el mismo llamado, pero lo ejecutamos en tareas específicas. Comprender el privilegio de ser sexualmente diferentes nos capacita para servir y glorificar a Dios, seamos casados o seamos solteros.
Y la tercera verdad se basa en una promesa: la seguridad de que nuestros cuerpos serán transformados y redimidos por completo. El pecado seguramente ha hecho daño a nuestras mentes, nuestros corazones y, sin duda, a nuestros cuerpos. No obstante, en Cristo toda mentira que inundaba nuestros pensamientos ha sido derrotada. Por eso, podemos estar seguros de que nuestro cuerpo fue diseñado (tal y como es) para buenas obras. No hay nada que pudiéramos añadirle o quitarle que cambiara el gran valor que Dios le ha dado.
Si hemos rechazado nuestro cuerpo, en Jesús tenemos redención. Si estuvimos obsesionados y hemos maltratado nuestro cuerpo, en Jesús tenemos redención. Si hemos caído en pecado sexual, en Jesús tenemos redención. Tu cuerpo es el correcto. Tú eres único(a). Anímate a desechar toda mentira de tu mente y a llenarla de las verdades de Dios y verás cómo tu diario caminar será mucho más pleno.
